According to our schedule, today we will visit the yellow river sightseeing area, first I will give a brief idea about the sightseeing zone. it faces the yellow river in the north, and embraces the yushan hill in the south, located about 40km to the southwest of zz city, it will take us about 40min to get there.

The yellow river is the second longest river in china, and regarded as the mother river of Chinese nation, the cradle of Chinese civilization, it is rooted from the bayan har mountain, and runs through nine provinces, empties into the bohai sea in shangdong province. like all the other rivers, the yellow river is divided into three sections, the upper reaches, the middle reaches, the lower reaches, and the peach blossom valley in henan province is divided the middle and the lower reaches. now you may raise a question, why the water in the river is yellow? that is because when the river runs through the world known loess altiplano, it takes away a lot of sand, which makes the water looks yellow and muddy, hence the name. but just this muddy river, nurtures the Chinese people and created the splendid Chinese civilization. among the seven ancient capitals in china, four of them are lies in the yellow river valley, so if you want to know more about the Chinese history and Chinese culture, it is a good choice to start from the yellow.

But as you know, the river was not always get along well with the Chinese people, according to some historical record, it was flooded for 1600 times in 2600 years, and the river course changed for 26 years .most of the flood are occurred naturally, but some of them were man-made. after the founding of new china, the central government showed great concern to this problem, we have take effective measures to harness the river, we have planted trees and grass in the loess altiplano to hold the water and soil, while many great projects has been built on the river, one of the greatest projects at xiaolangdi near luoyang has been put into use, and the river will not be flood in at least 300 years, the project can not only produce electricity but can also offer the supply of water both for irrigation and daily use in the region.

This place used to be a pumping station in the 1970s,in the late 70s,the local people planted many trees and flowers, built many provilions, pagodas and sculptures to beautify the place, now you can see it is a famous tourist attraction in this area, and draw many people come here for sightseeing and spend their holiday.

Now please follow me, I will give you more ideas about the sightseeing area. now the place we are standing is the five dragon hill, and the white statue you see is a beautiful young lady with a baby in her arm, can you refer its meaning, yes, the young lady stands for the yellow and the baby in her arm symbolize the Chinese nation, just as I said, we regard it as our mother river. from here, you can climb on the top of hill to take a birdeye of the enchanting river,you can also take a hovercraft to cruise the river,it will take about half an hour,you can also step on the islet in the middle of the river to have a special experience at the boundry of the middle and low reaches of the river.

But before that,let us first take the cabe car to the dayu hill over there,can you see the huge statue on the top of hill,it is yu-the great,a hero who tamed the flood of the yellow river 3000 years ago,I will give you more ideas when we get there,ok,now let us go.
