外国语学院简介

外国语学院

台州学院外国语学院师资力量雄厚，现有专任教师100多人（包括外籍教师），学生共1353人。下设英语本科、商务英语专科专业。外国语学院一直以“坚持两风（教风、学风）建设，争创办学特色”为指导，瞄准“地方性、应用性、综合性和高教性”的办学定位，围绕浙江省特别是台州市社会发展需要，培养一大批具有扎实经贸知识和较强外语运用能力外事、外贸人才和中学英语教师。我们还非常重视学生综合素质的提高，把学生第一课堂和第二课堂紧密结合到一起，促进学生的全面发展。

英语（师范） 　　　      　本科　　　　　　　　　 学制四年

培养目标：德、智、体全面发展的中等学校英语教师，具有较强的创造力和竞争力、全面踏实的专业文化知识，能较准确、流畅、得体地使用英语，具有初步运用第二外语的能力和一定的科研能力，掌握科学的教育方法和现代化教育手段并具有一定的教学、文字处理能力和较扎实的教师基本功。

主干课程：基础英语、英语听力、英语会话、英语阅读、英语写作、英语语音、英语语法、翻译理论与实践、英美文学史及作品选读、英语语言学概论、高级英语、语用学、修辞学等。

就业范围：适合在中小学从事英语教学和教育管理工作以及企事业单位的英语翻译工作。

英语                           本科 　　　 　　　　　　　 学制四年

设有商务、翻译两个方向，采取分方向开班。培养模式：以“外语＋专业方向”作为21世纪英语专业培养复合型、应用型人才的基本模式。

商务方向                         

培养目标：在商业企业、工业企业、三资企业以及外经贸部门从事国际贸易业务工作和翻译工作的复合型人才。

主干课程：基础英语、英语听力、英语会话、英语写作、翻译理论与实践、口译、商务英语写作、语言学、英美文学、国际金融、国际市场营销、国际贸易实务等。

翻译方向                   

培养目标：德、智、体全面发展的中高级翻译人才，具有扎实而全面的专业知识、较熟练的专业技能，能够胜任包括外事、文学、经贸、旅游、科技等的口译、笔译工作，具有初步运用第二外语的能力和一定的科研能力。

主干课程：基础英语、英语听力、英语阅读、英语会话、英语写作、英语语音、英语语法、英美文学史及作品选读、语言学概论、翻译理论与实践、应用翻译、科技翻译、文学翻译、同声传译。

就业范围：适合在企业及外经贸部门从事国际贸易业务和翻译等工作。

商务英语                 专科             　　　 学制三年

培养目标：德、智、体全面发展的中级应用型外贸英语专门人才，熟练掌握外贸知识及外贸英语知识，具有综合运用语言知识的能力及分析问题、解决问题、处理各种外贸实务的能力，胜任外资、合资、工矿企业和涉外企事业单位的外贸工作。

主干课程：基础英语、听力、阅读、口语、写作、语音、语法、商务英语、商务英语写作、国际贸易实务、国际金融、国际商法等。

　　　就业范围：适合于从事外资、合资工矿企业和涉外企事业单位的外贸工作及翻译工作，中小学英语教学等工作。

School of Foreign Languages

      SchoolofForeign Languagesof Taizhou University enjoys a high level teaching and research faculty with high degree, good knowledge structure, strong research ability and reasonable age distribution. Now we have over 100 full-time teachers (foreign teachers included) and more than 1353 full-time college students. We establish two majors: undergraduate course of English for four years and English for Trade and Business for three years. Guided by the principles of “sticking to the construction of Teaching Style. and Study Style, creating special teaching characters and making known as a regional, pragmatic, comprehensive and academic school of foreign languages”, we have already cultivated, for the social economic development of Zhejiang, especially Taizhou, numbers of high school English teachers and professional business people who are armed with sound knowledge of international trade and English. Also, we pay great attention to the development of students’ comprehensive qualities. By experiencing the First Class and the Second Class, our students achieve an overall development.

English (Teacher-training)       Undergraduate Course       Four-year Courses

Educational Objects:Students will be trained as high school English teachers with sound development in virtue, intelligence and health; they are relatively creative and competitive with good professional knowledge and fluent English; they have basic knowledge of second foreign language and academy research; they are familiar with scientific educational methods and modern teaching techniques and Word Processor; they are armed with sound teaching skills.

Main Subjects:Comprehensive English, Listening, Spoken English, Reading, English Writing, Pronunciation, Grammar, Translation Studies and Practice, History of American and English Literature, Linguistics, Advanced English, Pragmatics and English Rhetoric, etc.

Career Objects:Able to take jobs in teaching and educational management in high schools and primary schools as well as in translation for enterprises.

English             Undergraduate Course              Four-year Courses

Two majors:English for Trade and Business and English Translation. Have class respectively after students select their majors.

Educational Model:“English plus profession”, a basic model to cultivate inter-disciplinary talents among English majors in 21st century.

English for Trade and Business

Educational Objects:Students will be trained as inter-disciplinary talents, able to take jobs in international business and translation for business enterprises, industrial complex and foreign-funded enterprises.

Main Subjects:Comprehensive English, Listening, Spoken English, English Writing, Interpretation, Translation Studies and Practice, English for International Business Communication, Linguistics, History of American and English Literature, International Finance, Global Marketing, International Trade Practice and International Trade Theory, etc.

English Translation

Educational Objects:Students will be trained as senior translators with sound development in virtue, intelligence and health; they have good professional knowledge and professional skills, able to take jobs in interpretation and translation in fields such as foreign affairs, literature, business and finance, tourism and science and technology; they have basic knowledge of second foreign language and academy research.

Main Subjects:Comprehensive English, Listening, Reading, Spoken English, English Writing, Pronunciation, Grammar, History of American and English Literature, Linguistics, Translation Studies and Practice, Business Translation, Literature Translation, Simultaneous Interpretation etc.

Career Objects:Able to take jobs in international business and translation for enterprises and financial departments.

English for Trade      College for Professional Training       Three-year Courses

Educational Objects:Students will be trained as professional business people with sound development in virtue, intelligence and health; they have comprehensive language abilities, analyzing skills and problem-solving skills, able to take jobs in foreign-funded enterprises, factories, industrial complex and foreign-related enterprises.

Main Subjects:Comprehensive English, Listening, Reading, Spoken English, English Writing, Pronunciation, Grammar, International Finance, International Trade Practice, International Commercial Law, English for International Business Communication and International Trade Theory, etc.

Career Objects:Able to take jobs in foreign-funded enterprises, factories, industrial complex and foreign-related enterprises as well as in high schools and primary schools as English teachers.
